Bringing Care to Rural Residents New Mobile Care Unit

Mobile Care ClinicThe Adventist Health Central Valley Health Foundation just purchased a brand-new mobile care unit! Although we had to retire our aging first mobile unit, we currently have two active mobile units in our fleet, serving the community with a smile and compassionate care.

These mobile-care services have been a lifeline for underserved rural residents, providing more than 1,500 free medical screenings in 2023. The mobile-care team provides a wide range of services, free of charge to residents, including COVID testing, wound care, assessments of other medical conditions, vaccinations, lifesaving preventative health screenings and lab tests. Additionally, the team conducts educational-outreach efforts encompassing provider education, healthy living, lifestyle education and tailored content related to the care each individual receives. They provide sports and back-to-school physicals, general health education counsel, referrals to establish primary care services and referrals to community resources.

We anticipate serving 1,600 individuals in 2024, an increase from 1,470 in 2023, with an estimated demographic breakdown of 40% youth, 55% adults and 5% seniors.

The mobile care services program relies on community generosity and philanthropy. A special thank you to Facility Designs and Adventist Health Volunteers for their generosity and support of our latest mobile unit. These funds will be used to hire a full-time Nurse Practitioner for our mobile care program and the purchase of supplies and equipment needed to keep the mobile care unit going. Thank you so much for the impact you make!
