Venkataramana Reddy, MD
Dr. Venkataramana Reddy was the youngest of the three children born and brought up in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, India.
At a young age he lost his father and was determined to work hard and support his family and community. By the time he entered high school he decided to pursue a career in medicine. He was accepted to Andhra Medical College, a medical school with a well-known reputation in his home state in India.
After finishing medical school, he pursued a fellowship in Ophthalmology in India. After marrying his wife Dr. Sireesha Reddy, Dr. Reddy moved to the United Sates and completed residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and an Echocardiology fellowship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
His wife joined Family Medicine residency at Loma Linda University and Dr. Reddy practiced at Loma Linda University department of Internal Medicine. Shortly after his wife moved to Hanford, California to complete residency, Dr. Reddy joined the hospitalist group at Adventist Health Medical Center in Hanford and continued a practicing hospitalist medicine in the central valley.
Patients, colleagues, and friends remember him as patient and kind, “always greeting us with a smile”. After analyzing a situation, he would give his thoughts and recommendations. He enjoyed the chats with his colleagues and learned a lot from them.
Dr. Reddy provided medical care to his patients with compassion and empathy. He did not hesitate to speak up when seeing any injustice. He did not leave any stones unturned while providing medical care to his patients.
Dr. Reddy passed on February 28, 2023, and is missed by his friends and family.
